Sedation Dentistry Using Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) helps to take the edge off of having your dental procedures, so you feel calm and relaxed.  At our  practice, a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen, for increased safety. This sedation dentistry method has a pain-killing effect and is especially effective in managing severe gagging.

A mask is placed over you nose and a dose of nitrous oxide is adjusted until the appropriate level of sedation is reached. Nitrous oxide gas swiftly disappears from the body once the gas is stopped, allowing the patient to safely drive home after their appointment.

This method of sedation dentistry allows the patient to enjoy a pleasant feeling of relaxation, even during an intense or extensive session of dental work.
